In the first episode, the steadfast monk Genjo Sanzo sets out on his sacred westward quest to India, determined to recover the holy sutras. Along his solitary path, a chance encounter leads him to free the boisterous monkey Goku from an age-old seal placed by Buddha himself. With their fates now intertwined, the pair takes the initial steps of their shared adventure, navigating the unknown roads ahead.
