After completing his studies, Shuji reports for duty at the isolated Kiyosato Hospital, where memories of his father’s long-ago death still linger. On his arrival he learns that the surgeon once responsible for that operation now holds the post of assistant director. The same day brings an unexpected reunion with his former girlfriend, now wed to the doctor under circumstances that raise quiet doubts. Unsettled by these coincidences, Shuji resolves to examine the past and reclaim what he has lost.
